Workers at GimaSport in Hartford were busy making Red Sox World Series memorabilia just hours after Boston clinched the 2013 World Series Wednesday night.
In addition to all the other embroidery and screen printing the company does, GimaSport does jobs for ’47 Brand in Boston — which has licensing agreements with Major League Baseball, the national football, basketball and hockey leagues, and hundreds of colleges — when that company needs work in a hurry.
The company, which has 15 full-time employees, also embroidered hats for the Sox when the team won the division championship and the pennant. In the spring, owner Roberto Giansiracusa said, it produced more than 15,000 hats for the “Boston Strong” campaign.
GimaSport also produces polo shirts, T-shirts and tote bags, among other goods.
The company also does hats for sports teams in other areas of the country, but with Hartford so close to Boston, its proximity worked in its favor.
