Rain changing to snow across parts of Connecticut as temperatures fall into the 30s will make for a slick morning commute. The rain and snow will end by the middle of the morning. Highs today will stay between 35 and 40.

Our first snowfall of the fall season has blanketed the landscape with a coating to an inch of snow across the hill towns of Connecticut this morning as a strong Arctic front has crossed Connecticut.  This cold front has ushered in the coldest air of the fall season this afternoon and tomorrow with daytime highs in the 30’s to near 40, early morning lows in the teens and 20’s.  The good news is the cold snap will only last into Thursday before a warming trend commences as high pressure will move off the mid-Atlantic coast inducing temperatures to rise into the 50’s with plenty of sunshine.  This mild dry weather pattern will continue well into next week with temperatures averaging in the 50’s along with plenty of sunshine and no big rain or snowstorms in sight.
