It’s not just a regular Tuesday, today is Turkey Tuesday.

Bank of America and Foodshare are collecting turkey donations in Hartford this morning in preparation of the Thanksgiving holiday. The organizations hope to collect 20,000 turkeys this season. Why 20,000? Because that’s how many requests Foodshare has received from hungry families hoping to have a Thanksgiving meal.

Turkeys can be donated in person today by visiting City Place in downtown Hartford at 185 Asylum Ave. Donations will be accepted through 10 a.m.

If you can’t make it out to Hartford and would still like to help out a family in need, you can call 860-856-HELP (4357) to make a donation.
