GLASTONBURY — Fire heavily damaged a home at 2077 Manchester Road Monday morning.

Glastonbury firefighters were called to the house at 10:58 a.m. and were aided by a crew from Manchester.

The fire began in a garage and spread to the house, Glastonbury Fire Chief Michael Thurz said.

About 35 firefighters battled the blaze and after about 40 minutes they were able to bring it under control, he said.

“The good thing is everybody got out and there were no injuries,” Thurz said.

Glastonbury firefighters remained on the scene for several more hours extinguishing hot spots.

The fire’s cause remains under investigation.

Firefighters from Hebron, Marlborough and Portland staffed Glastonbury’s stations during the fire.
