We are saying goodbye to 2013 on a cold note – as expected, temperatures are tumbling with a few surges of Arctic air pushing into New England. For now, the weather is quiet. A minor clipper may bring a few snow showers to the area early Tuesday evening, but they won’t affect New Years Eve plans. If you’re headed out, bundle up – temperatures at Midnight are gonna be cold , in the 20s.

And that’s going to feel warm compared to what we get by the end of the week, when high temps are expected to be in the teens, and overnight lows Friday will drop below zero.

We’re continuing to watch the potential for a big snow Thursday into Friday that may bring a big shovelable snow. How much? Too soon to call it, but right now there are indications that this will be a big snow to deal with. We’ll be watching it closely. Right now, plan for snow to be an issue for Thursday and Friday. Yes, I know kids are headed back to school for those two days – this may be an issue enough to keep them home a few more days….. (I hear you parents!!!!)
