HARTFORD — A woman was arrested after she slashed a former co-worker’s face with a martini glass at a bar Sunday night, police said.

Stacia Moore, 28, of Beacon Street was charged with first-degree assault and breach of peace after the attack, which happened at The Tavern Downtown, 201 Ann Uccello St. Her bail was set at $250,000.

The resulting slash was vertical, 10 inches long and a quarter-inch wide, Sgt. Dennis O’Connor said. It took more than 20 stitches to close the wound, which ran down the side of her face, he said; the woman will need plastic surgery.

Police were called to the bar about 7:30 p.m. Officers were told that the two woman had begun to argue, and the dispute became heated, O’Connor said.

Tavern staff members witnessed the slashing and cooperated with police, he said
