Get ready for some big winter fun at a cozy, nearby spot.

“Nashoba Valley Ski Area prides itself on big mountain amenities, very close to home,” says Pam Fletcher, an Olympic skier who is also part of the founding family.  “We are only 20 miles outside of Boston.  We have skiing both day and night.”

But, this Westford, Mass., destination has become known for something other than skiing.

“We have New England’s largest tubing park,” explains Fletcher.  “We have up to 18 lanes of tubing.  They groom it. They make snow on it!. One-hundred percent snow making!  Just because you don’t see it on the ground outside of your house, doesn’t mean we don’t have it here at Nashoba!”

Ten-year-old Madelyn Sumner of Killingly, Conn., says the icy ride is fast and furious:

“Yeah, I screamed the whole time,” she said.

Her little sister agrees.

“The first one, I was a little scared, but then I liked it because it’s awesome,” said Grace.

The drive from Hartford to Westford takes about an hour and a half.  For more information about the terrain park, slope-side restaurant and ski school, click here to visit SkiNashoba.com.
