Police: West Haven Man Arrested Driving Stolen Car

WEST HAVEN — A local man was arrested Saturday night on an outstanding warrant after officers caught two men in a stolen car, police said.

West Haven police, assisting state police, arrested Wilbert Johnson, 28, of West Haven, on an active warrant for robbery.

A state trooper was following a stolen Honda that was occupied by two men, police said. The two men fled the car after stopping on Coleman Road, police said.

Police found Johnson, who was allegedly driving the stolen vehicle, and arrested him.

Police said Johnson was charged with robbery by West Haven police and turned over to state police.

The second man was not charged, police said.
