HARTFORD — Water service was returned to some customers Sunday morning on Harper Street after a water main broke outside a home.
The Metropolitan District reported that the water main had broken outside 25 Harper Street early Sunday morning. MDC said the main was shut down at 3:15 a.m.
The section of water main, installed in 1928, serviced nine multifamily homes on Harper Street.
The break created a small sinkhole, according to MDC. A portion of a car parked on the street fell into the hole, MDC said, and police towed the car.
Water service was restored around 7:30 a.m., according to MDC.
