Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and his consumer protection commissioner will travel to West Haven on Tuesday to make an announcement regarding medical marijuana, the governor’s office said Monday night.
The notice did not say exactly what would be announced. However, the state Department of Consumer Protection has said it expected, by the end of this week, to name the companies that will be getting licenses to grow medical marijuana.
Malloy and Consumer Protection Commissioner William M. Rubenstein are scheduled to make the announcement at 11:30 a.m. at 400 Frontage Road in West Haven. Last summer, according to news reports, the West Haven planning and zoning commission approved an application from Advanced Grow Labs in Fairfield to grow medical marijuana at that location.
