The Super Bowl is the biggest game in football, but Super Bowl week…that’s the biggest game in entertainment.

Lavish parties, celebrities, athletes, everyone comes out for the one big game. Leading up to kick off on Sunday, one of the most popular events going on all week throughout New York and New Jersey are concerts.

Monday night Fox Sports held the Super Bowl Kick Off Spectacular in Jersey City’s Liberty Park. The backdrop was the New York City skyline but despite the draw, only a few hundred out of the 7,000 tickets sold made it out to the 28 degree outdoor show.

The concert was hosted by Joe Buck and Erin Andrews and featured the Goo Goo Dolls, Daughtry and The Fray psyching the crowd up for the week ahead.

That was the first concert of many scheduled across the New York/New Jersey area through Super Bowl Sunday. There are free concerts in Times Square’s Super Bowl Boulevard, VH1 is hosting a concert series and the biggest parties of the year hosted by ESPN and DirectTV among others will feature Robin Thicke and Jay-Z.
