A Meriden teenager has created an imaginary world with real results.

What is he making a name at? Creating video games.

15-year-old, Jake Bayer, is overcoming a big personal challenge and the proof is in the programming.

The Platt High School student has created a number of independent video games which have been getting good reviews.

Bayer, who has a type of Autism, had one of his games called “Senate Of Destruction” recognized by the Festival Of Independent Games – which took place in September at M.I.T. in Cambridge, Mass.

“It makes me feel that I have a talent,” Bayer said sitting in a Platt High classroom.

Bayer’s mother, Shelley, added, “my husband and I are very proud, I never thought he would be this independent ten years ago.”

Bayer is also a percussionist in the Platt High Band. Jake hopes to one day get hired by a gaming company.

For now, Jake is busy working on 3 new private video game titles. To see Jake’s website click  http://closedumbrellagames.com/
