If we told you it’s perfect surfing weather in New England, would you be in?
There is a place where you can catch a wave without being out in the elements. Indoor surfing is a reality in Nashua, N.H.
Only a few months old, Surf’s Up aims to provide an endless wave for those looking to hang ten any time of year.
“This is the real deal. This is as close as it gets to the ocean,” said Laurie Greer, one half of the husband and wife duo who own Surf’s Up.
Built by a California company called American Wave Machines, the technology can deliver waves from the training stage to a barreling 6 foot curl.
“The surfers are able to schedule the wave they want, and that is just unheard of,” owner Rob Greer said.
Newcomers to the sports are given a lesson that lasts about 30 minutes. The crew at Surf’s Up promises quite a rush.
Laurie Greer added, “The water temperature is 85 degrees, we have no sharks, no reef, and no waiting for waves!”
Surf’s Up in Nashua is open every day. It cost $45 for a 30 minute surfing session. Surf’s Up also boasts what’s called “Skyventure” for indoor skydiving. For more information, click here to visit the Skyventure/Surf’s Up website.
