A Fairfield teen is painting the way for pets across the country, using her artistic talents she is raising money and awareness to keep dogs healthy.

15-year-old, Annie Blumenfeld, started her cause called “Wags 4 Hope” two years ago.

The objective is to raise awareness and prevent heart worm disease in shelter dogs across the country.

Between selling her art and raising money through donations, Annie has already earned over $10,000 for her charity.

The continued mission is to get more education where it is needed most, at animal shelters.

“I’m working with my State Rep, Tony Hwang, on proposing a bill for education in all the shelters and pet stores,” Blumenfield said.

“We are hoping we can get a public hearing and get the word out.”

Annie has donated her paintings for shelters and hospital wings and she has just been asked to paint a picture for the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
