One member of the Connecticut College Camel hockey team has yet to log any game time this year. But that doesn’t mean his impact has not been tremendous.

Ten-year-old John-Anthony Washburne has been diagnosed with autism, cerebral palsy, and has even had to undergo neurosurgery to help with epilepsy. While at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for that surgery, he learned about Team Impact.

The non-profit organization pairs chronically ill children with local college athletic teams to the benefit of both. So, although his skills on the ice have room for improvement, the lessons he has brought to the team are unmatched.
