You may ask yourself, what does an 80s cult favorite video have to do with a new art exhibit in New Haven?

And you may ask yourself, what is it doing in an office?

Stephen Grant was a child when David Byrne and the Talking Heads introduced their ahead-of-it’s time video,  ‘Once In a Lifetime.’ Now he’s taken the video’s themes one step further by curating his first art exhibit with the arts council of New Haven and taking local artists interpretations of song lyrics.

“I started to think about what the show would be about. Because music is important to me, I figured I would let my show be a reflection of music,” Grant said.

In his book, ‘How Music Works,’ Bryne wrote that the video was culled from his images of being on tour all around the world. For Grant, he doesn’t see the world in his first curated exhibit, he just sees one city.

“I see a little of New Haven in them. This is me, and this is our lovely town, and you just walk through here, letting the days go by? I do (laughs), and letting the water flow underground.”
