BETHEL — Police are investigating a report by a Bethel student that a man chased her on Putnam Park Road on Tuesday afternoon.
The girl said she was on foot, just south of Route 302, when a white van drove past her and then stopped in the middle of the road, police said.
The man got out and started walking toward her. He then ran toward the girl, who ran to an adjacent house, police said.
The man was last seen heading south on Route 58 in the white van. He is described as a white man between 30 and 40 years old. He is 5-feet 10-inches with a medium build. He wore a white short-sleeved T-shirt with black pants and black shoes.
The student said the van was similar to a Ford Econoline. It was in decent shape and had a single window on the rear side panel.
