Danny Ramos (West Hartford Police Department)

WEST HARTFORD — A 36-year-old man is facing criminal charges after allegedly leaving his five-year-old nephew in the car while he worked out at Work Out World on Shield Street, police said.

Danny Ramos is charged with risk of injury to a minor, interfering with an officer and second-degree reckless endangerment.

He told police he didn’t know the child was in the car. The child wasn’t hurt, police said.

The incident happened Feb. 26 around 8:50 a.m. A passerby saw the child sleeping in the back seat and called police.

Officers responded, got the child out of the car and brought him inside the gym where police found Ramos.
