Hey, look! Temps above freezing! What a concept!

Sarcasm aside, it has been a cold week and a cold winter. The snow piles have not moved in a few days. We’ll see a minor thaw the next few days through the weekend, as thermometers read 40-plus a few times between now and Tuesday.

A storm will track to our south Friday but miss us to the southeast. Rhode Island and Cape Cod may be clipped, but not us.

Friday’s highs will reach the upper 30s, not up to normal but getting close (it should be 44 for a norm by the way). Saturday will be even warmer, even with  a minor disturbance late into the evening.

We’re largely quiet from weather events the next few days, but hang on. Winter may be holding on for the official final weeks with something possibly brewing in the middle of next week.

Extended Forecast

Friday: Partly to mostly sunny, not as cold as recent days. High temperatures in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees.

Saturday: Sunshine mixing in with afternoon clouds. Milder, pleasant. High temperature in the middle to upper 40s. Chance for evening flurries.

Sunday: Chance for a few flurries in the morning. A mix of sun and clouds. High temperatures in the upper 30s.

Monday: Chance for a snow shower in the morning. Otherwise, decreasing clouds. High temperatures around 40 degrees.
