WEST HARTFORD — Officials are still looking for the woman who brought a rabid skunk to a veterinarian last week.

“We have not been able to identify the good samaritan,” said Steven Huleatt, director of the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District. “She should be assessed by her physician or by a physician. The skunk was tested and did come back positive for rabies.”

There is no reason for concern among the public, Huleatt said.

The woman brought the skunk to Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut at 993 N. Main St., near Hall High School, on Thursday between noon and 1:30 p.m., according to the town.

Anyone with information on the woman is asked to call the West Hartford Police Department at 860-523-5203.
