A car chase in Middlefield ended with the suspect losing control of his car and crashing through a set of trees and into four parked vehicles, according to a police report.

The report states that a Middlefield officer attempted to pull over the suspect’s vehicle while traveling south on Jackson Hill Rd. after noticing the vehicle had no rear license plate. The suspect, Edwin Rodriguez, 29 of Meriden, sped up to over 60 mph in an attempt to flee the officer.

The car lost control around a right-hand corner on 104 Cedar Street and crashed through a set of trees on the property and into four vehicles parked in the driveway, according to the police report.

Rodriguez was transported to Hartford Hospital with minor injuries. He was released on $1,000 bond and has a court date of April 11, 2014.
