Morning clouds broke for some sunshine with highs in the lower 60s for most of the state. With a breeze blowing off the water by afternoon, the shore will remain a few degrees cooler.  A shower or sprinkle in southern Connecticut is possible late Thursday. But most of the state will stay dry as a storm passes harmlessly south of New England. Rain is more likely Friday night into Saturday morning.

Wednesday: Clouds break for some sun, mild. High temperatures in the mid to upper 50s for the shoreline, Near 60 degrees inland.

Thursday: Partly cloudy, chance for a shower in spots late day. High temperatures in the upper 50s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. High temperatures in the lower to middle 50s. Chance for rain late in the day with heavier downpours overnight.

Saturday: Early rain and clouds break for sunshine. Milder. High temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, a bit cooler. High temperatures in the middle and upper 50s.

Monday: Partly cloudy. High temperatures reach the middle 50s.
