Today, a gusty northwest wind will keep the sea breeze from developing. This will allow temperatures to rise into the 50s statewide. On Thursday winds switch direction, coming out of the southwest. With a breeze blowing over the chilly long island sound, shoreline towns will remain cooler with highs in the 50s. But inland areas away from the influence of the sea breeze will climb into the low 60s.
