EAST HAMPTON — An 18-year-old pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a car while crossing Route 66 on Tuesday night, police said.

The accident, near the town hall on High Street, was reported 7:40 p.m.

The pedestrian, identified as Sylvia Pulino, was taken by ambulance to Middlesex Hospital. A hospital spokeswoman said there is no record of Pulino as a patient.

The driver, John Arcidiacono, did not appear to be injured.

Police say Pulino was not in the crosswalk while crossing the street during a heavy, wind-driven rain. She was struck by an eastbound 2009 Subaru Forester.
