Want to learn the secrets behind the Great White Way? Take an Inside Broadway Tour, which begins in Manhattan’s Times Square.
“In this place 300 years ago, we would’ve been standing in horse country,” says guide Allie Parris. “I am the cliche struggling actress who moved to New York to make it big.”
She speed walks and ad-libs her way through the busy mecca, showing visitors landmarks, such as the Ethel Barrymore Theater and the Hotel Edison, where a famous scene from “The Godfather” was filmed.
Many participants continue on to see a show.
“We saw ‘Wicked,’ and I wanted to cry when it was over. I didn’t want it to be over. It was the best ever,” says Karla Hatcher of Florida.
What are this season’s hottest tickets?
“‘Alladin’ just opened on Broadway. That’s Disney, so it’s guaranteed to be a good time,” says Parris. “‘Bridges of Madison County’ just opened. That’s supposed to be very good!”
The Broadway Tour lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes and costs $35 per person. Click here to check out the company’s website for the weekly schedule.
