A 16-year-old student who was stabbed to death at Jonathan Law High School in Milford was remembered through social media, Friday.

Maren Sanchez, a high school junior, athlete, and honors student, was described as vibrant and extremely involved by Milford Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Feser.

“Very, very well respected. Liked. Academically did very well,” Feser said.

Two videos of Sanchez on Youtube showed a young woman with a zest for music and performing. In an apparent 2013 school project, she can be seen singing “Blue Skies” in a 1920’s skit. In a 2012 recital, Sanchez sang an acoustic rendition of “Home” by artist, Phillip Phillips.

Hundreds of messages with the hashtag #prayformaren streamed into Twitter Friday morning.

“Still can’t believe this could happen to one of the nicest girls I knew from last year,” One person wrote.

“So sad, can’t believe this. She is literally the sweetest girl I know. Please pray for her and her family,” Said another.
