Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run In Stonington

STONINGTON — Police are searching for the car that struck and fatally injured a local man on Friday.

Police said a severely injured Grover Moree, 51, of Robinson Street in the Pawcatuck section of town, was found on Route 2 near Route 78 about 5 a.m.

He appeared to have been struck by a vehicle that left the scene, police said.

Moree was flown by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he died.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Stonington police at 860-599-4411.
