HARTFORD — A man was shot and killed at Park and Lawrence streets Monday night. The killing was Hartford’s fourth homicide of the year.

Deputy Chief Brian Foley said police were notified at 11:09 p.m. that several shots were fired and a victim was on the ground near Park and Lawrence in Frog Hollow. The city’s shot spotter system detected 11 shots, Foley said.

A man was found on the sidewalk in front of 631 Park St. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. The man was taken by ambulance to Hartford Hospital, where he died a short time later.

The man has been identified, but his name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Major crimes division detectives are investigating.
