NEW HAVEN — A police officer was injured early Wednesday while attempting to stop a car that had run a stop sign at the intersection Grand Avenue and Font Street.
Police said the car crashed into a utility pole, which fell on the officers patrol car. The officer sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the car sustained what appear to be non life-threatening injuries.
Police said that, after crashing, the car caught on fire and the fire spread to a nearby building.
Everyone that was in the building/house that was on fire made it out safely. Police are still on the scene investigating will be out there through the morning.
