OXFORD, Conn. — The man who is suspected of killing his estranged wife in Oxford on Wednesday morning had been ordered to stay away from her, court records show.

Scott Gellatly, 46, allegedly shot Lori Gellatly, 32, and her mother Merry Jackson after forcing his way into their home at 43 Sioux Drive around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said. Lori Gellatly was pronounced dead at Waterbury Hospital; Jackson is in serious condition.

Scott Gellatly was taken into custody around 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a former KFC restaurant inWinsted after a massive manhunt, said State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance. He was found in a truck with a hose leading from the exhaust pipe into the vehicle, in an apparent effort to kill himself, Vance said.

A restraining order between the couple was in effect, according to court records.
