State Police: 163 Accidents, 29 DUI Arrests So Far Over Memorial Day Weekend

State police released information Sunday on arrests made so far over the course of 2014’s Memorial Day Weekend.

State police have investigated 163 motor vehicle accidents, 29 of which reported injuries. No fatal accidents have been reported.

State police have issued 644 speeding violations, 567 seat belt violations, 2,320 hazardous moving violations and made 29 DWI arrests.

All information-gathering reflects incidents from Friday morning to Sunday at 7 a.m.

Police remind motorists to obey all rules of the road and report suspected drunk driving.

Police will continue to gather information specific to Memorial Day Weekend until Wednesday at midnight.

In 2013, 281 accidents were recorded over Memorial Day Weekend, two were considered fatal. 1,941 speeding tickets were issued and 718 seatbelt violations were reported. 57 DUI arrests were also made in 2013.
