Residents of Litchfield County are still cleaning up from a powerful storm that struck the area, Tuesday night. Trees fell  on homes, businesses, and properties and the region experienced wide spread power outages.

“I was in disbelief. So, I turned right around and low a behold, a huge tree sitting right on the office,” New Milford resident Dr. John Turchiano said.

Scientists for the National Weather Service visited New Milford, Wednesday, to investigate if a tornado had touched down. They concluded that all of the damage was due to straight line winds a long a 7 mile path. At maximum, the winds reached 100 miles per hour, the National Weather Service Said.
