VERNON — The woman who prompted an Amber alert when she took her three children from Vernon to Maine in violation of a custody agreement was extradited to Connecticut, police said.

Vernon police brought Jackie Ann Morris, 32, who was in custody in Maine, to the police headquarters where she was arrested on a warrant, Lt. William Meier said. She was charged with three counts each of first-degree custodial interference and risk of injury to a minor, according to Meier.

Morris is being held on $250,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at Rockville Superior Court on Friday.

Meier said Wednesday that Morris had signed documents at the Penobscot County jail in Bangor, Maine, waving her right to fight the extradition process. She had initially planned to fight extradition but changed her mind, police said.
