Hartford police are investigating an overnight shooting on Cornwall Street. One man was shot, and it’s unknown what his condition is at this point or what led up to the shooting.

Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred during a car chase on Cornwall Street late Sunday that ended when the cars involved crashed at 66 Harold St. about 11:40 p.m., police said.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was found by officers in the yard at 66 Harold St., police said. After being shot, the man tried to seek refuge at a friend’s house.

Those who shot the man fled and were not caught, police said.

Last night’s shooting was the third in the capital city this weekend. Saturday afternoon a 34-year-old man was killed in a shooting at South Green Park. It marked the city’s sixth homicide of 2014.

Another shooting happened around 5 p.m. in the area of Albany Ave. and Oakland Terrace. Police say the victim, whose name has not been released, was stopped in a car when the suspect fired at him. The victim drove away, striking another car, then made it to the hospital.
