EAST HARTFORD – A 49-year-old man was shot outside 75 Bissell St. late Monday night, police said.

The victim suffered a non life-threatening wound to his leg and thigh. He was treated at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford.

He told police he was outside the address around 10:30 p.m. when several suspects lying in wait fired shots at him and then fled on foot, police said.

Police spokesman Sgt. Michael DeMaine said the shooting does not appear to be related to a shots fired incident on Main Street last week.
