Seven U.S. Postal Workers are accused of defrauding the state by collecting unemployment they weren’t supposed to get.
Jewel Bowman, Rafael Jaworski, Maurice James, Jrae Little, Kelly Johnson, Erin Chappel, and Robbin Smith are charged with 1st Degree Larceny By Defrauding A Public Community, as well as Unemployment Compensation Fraud.
Investigators said they lied to questions using the TeleBenefits Line, an automated system through the state’s Department Of Labor, claiming they worked considerably less hours than they actually did at the post office to get more compensation from unemployment.
Over-payments ranged from about $7,200 to almost $37,000 over several years.
Jrae Little failed to appear in court so the judge issued a warrant for her arrest.
