UPDATE: Hartford Police Department Deputy Chief Brian Foley sent a tweet this afternoon indicating that Miles Harris is a suspect in the recent burglary of two televisions from the Family Worship Center in Hartford. A press release further revealed that Harris is a suspect in other church burglaries in the area as well. He is also wanted for second degree larceny for an incident in which an elderly man was seriously assaulted.
Hartford Police are looking for a man responsible for the theft of two televisions from the Family Worship Center at 650 Blue Hills Ave.
Police have released surveillance photos of the man in hopes that someone will be able to identify the man photoed.
The suspect entered the church through the front door at approximately 8 p.m. on June 11 while a Bible study group was meeting. The suspect then tampered with the building’s alarm system and unlocked a window. The Pastor called the alarm company to reset the alarm, thinking that it was malfunctioning. The alarm company called the Pastor back three hours later because the alarms were set off again, but they decided to not call the police since they still thought the alarm was malfunctioning.
Surveillance shows that the man had returned around 11 p.m., but did not take anything. He returned at 9 a.m. the following morning and took a 40-inch Insignia TV and a 60-inch Sharp LC LED TV (model number 60LE640U).
Police described the suspect as a thin black male with short hair in his late teens or early 20s. He’s about 5-foot-8 and was seen in the surveillance photos wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt with a red t-shirt underneath, a baseball hat, dark pants, Adidas black-and-white sneakers, and he was carrying a blue Yankees backpack.
