Glastonbury police are asking residents to check their jewelry as they investigate a string of burglaries in town.

Police investigating a number of break-ins that happened between June and December 2013 have found that many victims did not realize that their property had been stolen as there were no obvious signs of entry.  Daniel Taylor, 30, was arrested and charged with larceny in the third degree in relation to the crimes. All the break-ins happened in the area of Whapley Road.

There have been 15 incidents reported to police. Most of the items stolen were cash and jewelry.

Police said that based on the suspect’s history at pawn shops, there may be more unreported thefts. Police are asking residents in the Whapley Road area to inventory their possessions, especially those items that are rarely worn.
