A camera was found in a changing room at the Hammonasset Beach State Park camping grounds in Madison Saturday morning, according to a state official.
Col. Kyle Overturf, a Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Environmental Conservation Police director said, “It’s very disconcerting, it’s a case we’d really like to solve.”
The small camera was hidden inside a coat hook in a bath house in “Area 1” of the sprawling campground.
Lou Roy of Seymour, who is spending the week at the campground with his wife Arlene, said, “I think its sad, and then finding out it was in a handicapped bathroom, it’s kind of sick.”
“It’s not going to stop us, we’re still going to have fun,”Arlene Roy said.
Col. Overturf said “we’re working with some forensic labs to find out if there is any information on the camera, anything we can work with.”
No arrests have been made, but the investigation is continuing, Anyone with information is asked to contact the DEEP Environmental Police.
