An arrest has been made in the case of the death of a RHAM Middle/High School in Hebron.

Dawn Mallory, 65, taught seventh- and eighth-grade math at the middle school. She was struck by a car while walking to school on the morning of March 14.

Elizabeth Everett, 50, had just dropped off students at the high school when she went to back out of the middle school bus drop-off area. She struck Mallory, who died two weeks later from her injuries.

After a long investigation police applied for an arrest warrant for Everett, and the warrant was subsequently issued on July 25 by the Superior Court in Rockville GA 19.

Everett is charged with misconduct with a motor vehicle and unsafe backing. She turned herself in at State Police Troop K on July 29 and was released after posting a $100,000 court-set bond.

Everett will next appear in court on August 12.
