Christopher Plaskon–who is accused of murdering Maren Sanchez in the hallways of Jonathan Law High School in Milford just hours before the Junior Class prom–briefly went before a judge in Milford Superior Court this afternoon for an update on how all parties were proceeding.
The proceeding lasted about 60 seconds and then Plaskon, clad in a prison jumpsuit, was led away by judicial marshals.
“We’re still a long way from making decisions in terms of what we’re going to do in terms of the defense,” said Richard Meehan, Plaskon’s attorney. “We don’t make that real determination until we’ve had the opportunity to assemble all the material and review all the material ourselves and conduct an investigation.”
Maren’s father, Jose, released a statement via the family attorney that said, “Jose Sanchez will be a part of the process for justice to assure that all those that play a part in this process know the magnitude of the loss to Jose and everyone when Maren was taken.”
