at Mohegan Sun.
The Hartford Courant reports indoor lacrosse will be played at the Arena.
The Courant reports the Tribal Authority is purchasing one of nine franchises in the
National Lacrosse League.
Already the Tribal Authority owns and operates the WNBA's Connecticut Sun but often
during the winter months the 10,000 seat arena is empty becase the season is over.
The National Lacrosse League's schedule runs from December to May so it will help
to fill up the seats.
The League has teams in the U.S. and Canada and operates under an 18-game schedule
with nine of those games at home.
Back in 2003 the Mohegan Tribe made history becoming the first Native American Tribe
to own a sports franchise when they acquired the Connecticut Sun.
The move is expected to be officially announced Wednesday morning during an
11 a.m. press conference.
