A warm front draped across New York State will stall and provide for scattered showers and thunderstorms across the Hudson Valley tonight, with a few showers possible moving into parts of Connecticut later.
The front will weaken and move southeast as cool high pressure from eastern Canada gradually moves into northern New England Friday, and continues further into Connecticut by this weekend. This will usher in a cool northeast flow, and thus temperatures will average in the 70s to near 80.
A big warm-up will follow next week with high pressure in control. Expect daily highs in the low 80s to start early next week, warming into the mid-upper 80s by the middle and end of the week.
