Mother Accused of Leaving Babies In Unattended Car
A woman left her 2-year-old and 2-month-old children unattended in a car around 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.
An employee at a nearby business saw the children, and called the Manchester Police, who responded to the area near 1041 Main St.
Officers found the doors unlocked with one window slightly open. Tuesday’s high temperature reached 87 degrees at 3:45 p.m. in Manchester.
The officers waited at the car with the children for approximately 15 minutes before the mother returned to the car.
The woman said she was in a restaurant nearby getting the kids food and that she was only gone for a few minutes, according to police.
Amanda Lasewicz, 25, of Stafford Springs was arrested for leaving children in a vehicle unattended. She was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is due in court September 9.
The children were evaluated in the hospital, but neither seemed to be injured.
