Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Train In Naugatuck

New Metro North Station Approved For Bridgeport

Robert Huges, 39, of Wolcott was killed Tuesday night after he was hit by a train.

The incident occurred at 6:57 p.m. on the northbound tracks near the overpass south of Maple Street in Naugatuck, according to a release from the Naugatuck Police. The train was travelling from Bridgeport to Waterbury.

Both Naugatuck Police and MTA Police are investigating the incident, but it remains unclear at this time what the man was doing on the trucks.

Bus service was provided to commuters who were on the train.
