Update: Norwalk police have made an arrest in a hit and run accident that happened early Friday morning.
Frederick Vera, 23, of Norwalk was charged with DUI and evading responsibility. The unidentified pedestrian was issued a verbal warning for reckless misuse of the roadway by a pedestrian.
Police found debris from a Honda at the scene and later found Vera driving a red Honda with front end damage driving on Washington Street. The damage matched the evidence left at the scene. Police found liquor in the vehicle and Vera failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.
He will appear in court on September 9th.
Norwalk police are investigating a late-night hit and run.
It happened on Stroffolino Bridge.
Police said a pedestrian was hit by a small red car which then took off in the direction of South Norwalk.
Based on debris at the scene, police think it may be a Honda.
The pedestrian's injuries are believed to be serious.
