Two Seriously Injured After Police Say A Driver Bolts From Traffic Stop, Crashes Into Car
New London police arrested a man after they said he drove off from a traffic stop and then ran a red light and crashed into a car, causing serious injuries.
Police said they attempted to pull over Richard Miller, 52, of New London for no headlights on Sunday night. As the officer approached the vehicle, they said Miller drove off at a high rate of speed.
Miller failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a car crossing the intersection, according to police. Two people in that vehicle were trapped and had to be extricated before being transported to Lawrence and Memorial hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
Miller was being held on charges of interfering with police. The crash is being investigated and additional charges are pending.
