According to court paperwork, police interviewed several witnesses who described seeing three teenagers, one of them holding a handgun, flee the scene in a tan Toyota Camry. Enfield police alerted Connecticut State Police who found a vehicle fitting that description at a gas station near exit 34 off Interstate 91 South about an hour later. Witnesses were brought to the gas station to identify the car and its occupants, Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said.

“They were able to positively identify those people as the people they saw on the street,” Sferrazza said.

According to police, the Camry was stolen from Norwalk in June. It contained a loaded handgun and brass knuckles. Police said Brown, Concepcion, and the two minors were arrested on charges related to the handgun and stolen vehicle. Enfield police are seeking search warrants to obtain DNA evidence from the car and more charges could be forthcoming, Sferraza said.

“We believe we’ll have some more information pertaining to this homicide with these individuals,” Sferrazza said.

On Thursday, flowers and messages of remembrance written in chalk were left around the front porch of 31 Prospect Street where Torres lived.

"The kid had the biggest heart. He took everyone in, helped everyone out anyway he could,” Friend Kaylee Moreno said.

A vigil for Torres is expected to be held at 7pm, Thursday evening, at Enfield’s Town Green.

Brown and Concepcion are being held on $100,000 bond. Their next court date is September 18.
