Ansonia Police are investigating a recent rash of burglaries hitting local businesses. Since Sept. 1, four stores have been burglarized. Three of the burglaries have been on the west side of town and one on the east side of town.

On Sept. 1, Super Tees on Riverside Drive was hit. The crooks forced their way in, damaged several machines and the alarm system, costing about $5,000 worth of damage.

On Sept. 3, CT Consignments on Pershing Drive was hit. The crooks broke through a glass panel door causing about $500 in damage.

On Sept. 4, Subway on West Main Street was hit. The crooks also caused about $500 in damage.

On Sept 5, Duchess Restaurant was hit. The crooks damaged a security camera and took off with at least $1,500 in cash.

All of the burglaries have happened in the overnight hours. They believed to be occurring in hours between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

All of the cases are still under investigation. At this time there are not descriptions of the suspect or suspects. Ansonia Police are asking that anyone who may have seen anything to contact the Detective Division at 203-735-1885.
