A  frontal system that dropped as much a quarter of inch of rain across parts Connecticut this afternoon has moved off shore this evening.  The rain has ended and skies will slowly clear overnight, as dry air begins to work into the region.  Sunday will be the pick of the weekend with high pressure that will deliver plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures.

If you like Sunday’s weather, you will love Monday as the high will slowly build off the New England Coast; a southwest wind will usher in slightly warmer temperatures.  Some clouds will begin to dim the sun late in the day ahead of the next cold front that will deliver another round of showers early Tuesday.  The sun returns to the region Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday followed by another cold front that usher in the coldest air mass of the early fall season by Thursday and Friday.   Early morning lows could potentially drop in the 30’s across the normally colder sheltered valleys with highs only in the upper 50’s and 60’s.  It’s that time of year to get the jackets and sweaters out of the closets.

Tonight: Partly cloudy to clear.  Low: 46-56.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, cool.  High: 65-70.

Monday: Sunny delightful.  High: 70’s.

Tuesday: Chance for early showers then becoming partly sunny. High: 70.

Wednesday:  Mostly sunny. High: 70.

Thursday: Sunny.  High: 60’s.

Friday: Mostly sunny.  High: 60’s.
